SHORT STATEMENT
Most of my work in photography revolves around its theme “pamumuhay sa araw-araw” which means an art for everyday living, it’s nothing so special but I wanted to show the worth and beauty of living daily lives of average Filipinos. I choose this concept because I wanted to show to the world, to those people above us that we are part of the community too and we have rights to step up our state of living. The schematics of this concept to give a pinch to heart of the viewer and show the reality of life.
When it comes to digital artwork, most of my piece focus on the idea of an average person thinking. The person’s common aspiration on achieving his desires to be include in the society, which means the perfection of its looks is always present because the society told you so. I intend to lure viewer’s affection into my artwork.

ARTIST STATEMENT
From the past 5 years of making and entering to the creative world of art until now, I have realized that even the slightest things around me have its own uniqueness and characteristics when it comes to the creative side of view. I could feel that I am one of the luckiest person in the world that even that slightest thing was I able to witness. I have found constantly adoring the beauty of a unique artwork. From its reference, to the process of the making to final piece. From the model and its final output photo. I believed that the beauty of an art varies to its characteristic shows in each genre, however this does not state the fact that it is the real meaning of an art. Maybe not every people believes to the beauty I can see to the artwork I create, to the photo I produced, but this does not state the fact that I am not a good artist, maybe I am not, but I do believe that there is a person really appreciated the beauty of my creation. I do believe that every art has its own audience, I just need to find the right audience for them to appreciate the context of my work.
I started doing an art when I was 8 grade in high school, using colored papers, glue and some scissors. I do it for some reason, just do fulfil my desires to prove in myself that I do have some unique characteristics in myself. something that I possess and can’t take away by the others. I love creating art crafts out of indigenous materials and recyclable materials. Two years later, I have discovered to myself that I have this talent in drawing and creating a two dimensional image using coloring and drawing books, pencils and ordinary crayons, practicing using these materials makes me able to make it profitable by doing commissions in lower grade and even some of my relatives.
Time has passed my art instinct started to kick-in and my desire to discover things become a journey. At this time, my curiosity about photography has reach its level and become a habit, I was in in a photography club. at first I didn’t intend to go that far but of but one of my classmate back then and teacher has seen my potential in taking photo. I was nominated to join and compete to photography contest and journalism. I didn’t expect that I would one back then but surprisingly I won the third place in photojournalism for the first time at my first contest proper. The victory I had was unexpected, luckily I had won because none of the contestant from my school during the academic year won in other contest category. I was really lucky, during that year in a higher league of the photo contest I take another victory on becoming a second place, after that in regional level I become one of the finalist, because of these awards I got awarded by the school the “Journalist of the Year” and the “Artist of the Year 2015” award.
A year after stepping in college, my knowledge about art expanded. I gained another ability to create art which is digital art using Photoshop and Illustrator. As of this time, my journey in exploring the world of art in digital media is still in progress. Studying and graduating in the path I choose does not mean I will stop in exploring soon. The knowledge about art around you is changing every time something happened. I do like researching and keep researching in order to create artwork. I have this will that I wanted to create an artwork that will change one’s view, change its perception in life, become a history even if in some selected areas around the world or around my country. An artwork that will remains to the thoughts and ideas of people around me and change their perception in life.
My creation and materials is limited. This is the reason why I’m always looking for an opportunity and ways to acquire some certain materials that I use to create artwork. I love to explore and travel more often to find an inspiration and some great reference materials to make it, just like a sheep who lost is its innocence and curiosity.
Sincerely yours,
June De Guzman
